The World Poker Tour (WPT) wants to expand its global reach. It has announced the start of WPT Prime, a worldwide poker tournament circuit that will include stops in numerous Southeast Asian nations, to reach its goal. With the inauguration, one of the WPT’s longest-running series comes to an end.
WPT Becomes Global Poker Playground
In 2022, WPT Prime will debut in Asia with three events. This will aid the company’s forthcoming event schedule in Asia, which is one of the most popular poker regions. Players from all over the world will compete in WPT Prime events in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Taiwan. This is a return to the continent’s previous successful events poker tournament.
Players will compete at the Crown Poker Club in Hanoi from May 19 to 30. The series’ highlight is the VND25-million ($1,100) buy-in main event. It will take place from the 26th to the 30th of May.
The WPT’s next stop will be in Cambodia, where a series of events will be held at the NagaWorld integrated Resort in Phnom Penh from August 11 to 23. The $1,100 buy-in main event will kick off the poker tournament from August 18 to 22.
In November 2019, the WPT hosted the previous largest live poker event in Cambodia. The $727,500 prize pool nearly tripled the $250,000 guarantee.
The third WPT Prime event for Asia in 2022 will be held in Taiwan at Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association in Taipei from November 11 to 21. The TWD30,000 ($1,077 US) buy-in main event will take place from November 17 to 21.
The End of an Era
With the debut of WPT Prime, the WPTDeepStacks, which was first released in 2014, will be phased out. After the conclusion of WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam and Sydney, it will formally end in mid-2022.
Sydney was only recently included in the tour. The WPT announced the visits in early February, expanding its WPTDeepStacks tour to include Australia.
The first WPTDeepStacks will take place from March 30 to April 11 at The Star Sydney. There will be 12 events in all, with the main event costing AUD$1,500 ($1,070).
After that, the WPT will travel to The Star Gold Coast. The Queensland casino hosted a WPTDeepStacks event last year. Despite the restrictions, the main event drew 1,113 people and gave out more than $1 million in prize money.

The organizers intend to repeat the event’s success with two more gatherings later this year. Despite the lack of specifics, a WPT news statement from January revealed that one of the poker tournaments at the Star Gold Coast will be a championship event, pending regulatory certification.
If the application is approved, this will be the first WPT main tour stop in Australia. There is one issue: COVID-19 regulations in Australia may limit the amount of people who can participate in Sydney or Queensland. To win at gambling make sure only at qq slot.
